Well, as many of you know, Austin and I are going to Japan next week. We are chaperoning Mom and Dad! HA! We have been talking about this since Curtis, Deana and Avery left last fall. I try every year to take Austin somewhere neat and different on Spring Break. Unfortunately, Keith can never join us because it's the end of the first quarter at work and he cannot afford to be gone. Sooo, it turns into a mother/son adventure and we wait to have a vacation with Daddy in the summer, usually surrounding baseball!
We are so pumped about this trip. It's all Austin can talk about. He's shared it with his whole class and even his teacher pulled up Google maps for the class so they could see where he was going. I think he is most excited about seeing the major league baseball game. I am just thrilled to see another culture. This is truly going to be a trip of a lifetime!
So far I have made a list of everything we're going to take (in an excel spreadsheet with a column to check it off as I pack it) and this weekend we will start packing. We leave in only 6 days!

We bought the baseball tickets today! Since it is a pre-season game, we could only choose general seating in the infield or the outfield. We chose infield of course. They were only 2,500 yen each. Reg. season is about double.
The game should be crowded since the opponents are last year's champs, the Yomiuri Giants.
We are getting excited and can't wait for the chaos to begin!

What a cool experience for you all. I'm so excited to hear all about it & see pictures of you guys over there. It's wierd, but I can just "hear" the excitement in the written words. I'm happy y'all are getting to take the adventure of a lifetime. Cram as much in as you can & we'll be waiting to hear all about it. Much love . . .
I think Austin is so cute with his money. He looks so excited I know you will all have a wonderful short visit. Deana, Curtis and Avery can hardly wait. Have a wonderful and exciting week.
Love to all,
Grandmother and Granddaddy
